Active Supervision in ECEC Settings

Lack of supervision and keeping children safe from harm and hazards continues to be one of the most common breaches in centre based settings around Australia. In this session we will go over some of the foundational principles of supervision, learn the difference between a hazard and a risk, practice some risk assessments and more. We will also discuss the benefits of risky play and how we can navigate this while still maximising children's safety. Team communication is one of the most important ways that we can ensure that the whole centre is working to keep children safe together. It is everyone's responsibility.
