About the Course

Strong oral language is the foundation of lifelong literacy success. This engaging professional learning workshop supports early childhood educators to confidently build children’s communication and early literacy skills from birth to five through intentional, play-based practice.

Participants will explore how to strengthen both receptive and expressive language, embed the Big 6 of Reading in developmentally appropriate ways, and create language-rich environments that support every learner. The session also provides guidance on recognising children’s oral language strengths and responding effectively to support their growth.

Aligned with EYLF v2.0, AERO Literacy and Communication Trajectories, and the National Literacy Learning Progressions, this workshop bridges research and practice—giving educators practical strategies they can implement immediately to improve outcomes for children.
